We are looking for a Technical Writer / Documentation Specialist to join our team and work closely with engineers and designers in high-tech environment.

In this role, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining high-quality technical documentation using DITA XML. You will turn complex technical information into clear, accurate and user-friendly documentation that supports both products and services.

The role is based in Espoo, with the ability and willingness to work at the customer’s premises in Kirkkonummi approximately three days per week. May require occasional international travel (max 20%).

Gofore has agreed to sell the Product Design & Technical Documentation business, acquired last autumn, to the Finnish energy and industry design and consulting company CoE Group. The business being sold is part of Huld Oy before the transaction is completed. Huld Oy is undergoing a partial demerger, after which this business will be incorporated as its own company. It covers the design and technical documentation of physical products and device assemblies for industry and the defense sector, employing about 120 experts.

The business acquisition agreement was signed today, 22 June 2026, and the transaction is expected to be completed around 1 September 2026, once the ongoing partial demerger of Huld Oy is finalised and the business being sold is incorporated. The entire share capital of the new company will be sold to CoE once the incorporation is complete. The business arrangement does not require approval from the competition authority.

The staff of the product design and technical documentation business will continue in Gofore’s organization for the time being and will transfer to CoE’s employment once the transaction is completed. In connection with the transaction, Gofore and CoE have also entered into a comprehensive cooperation agreement, allowing both companies to offer complementary services to their customers. What you’ll be doing

• Convert MS Word content into DITA XML.

• Develop DITA XML topic using markup element tags, attributes, maps, and conditions.

• Independently working on technical writing projects: ensure the projects are completed on time, objectives are defined, necessary planning activities (e.g., plan authoring, review, estimation of deliverables, milestones, validating and testing, reliability, and risk mitigation of documents).

• Ensure project results meet requirements and ensure technical accuracy, quality, reliability, schedule.

• Develop DITA XML topic using markup element tags, attributes, maps, and conditions.

• Works with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), engineers, mechanical and electrical designers to identify the most effective product and service illustration solutions that are highly accurate and complete.

What we’re looking for

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s in Engineering or related field

• Minimum 3-4 years of Experience in technical writing (DITA XML).

Requirements

• Fluent English language verbal & written, German is a plus

• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

• Proficient in technical publishing software:

  • DITA XML: Oxygen Editor (other software is a plus)

  • Content Management System (CMS): SDL Tridion Docs (other software is a plus)

  • Graphical: Illustrator, Inkscape, Adobe CC (other software is a plus)

  • MS Office Suite: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook

• Good experience in customizing the appearance of any of the output types by customizing the output DITA transformations.

• Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.

• Ability to work in a cross-functional organization and multitask on multiple projects.

• Must be a quick learner, self-starter, with strong attention to details and can work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, high-tech environment.

• Requires working closely with both European based teams and also Asia based.

Salary
