Senior Secure OT Software Engineer
We are looking to grow our team with a Senior Secure OT Software Engineer specializing in secure industrial and Operational Technology (OT) software development.
You will work on long-term projects in security-critical OT environments, spanning both the public and private sectors.
We have a strong focus on intelligent industry, embedded systems, and OT security, and we aim to match you to a project that genuinely interests you and fits your expertise.
Technologies and focus areas vary by role, but commonly include embedded core technologies such as C/C++ programming, hardware interfaces, or Embedded Linux / Yocto Linux customization.
Your role
As a Senior Secure OT Software Engineer, you take a key role in building secure software for OT and embedded environments. You ensure that security is considered throughout the system and product lifecycle, not only during the implementation.
A central part of your role is ensuring development teams and projects adopt secure software development practices. You work hands-on while also guiding others and embedding security thinking into everyday development.
You will collaborate closely with other Software Engineers, QA and Testing Specialists, Security Experts, Client stakeholders and Product Owners.
In addition to project work, you will contribute to the development of secure software development practices at Gofore and support colleagues with your expertise.
What we expect from you
+5 years of experience in software development
Solid experience in secure software development and its practical rollout into development teams
Embedded software development experience, especially with C / C++
Experience working with OT and industrial protocols, such as:
Modbus
OPC UA
CAN (or similar fieldbus / industrial communication protocols)
Experience with device and firmware security, such as:
Secure boot
Secure update mechanisms
Firmware integrity and lifecycle security
Solid understanding of OT environment security requirements, including:
Availability and safety requirements
Long system lifecycles
Constraints of industrial and embedded systems
We also appreciate if you have:
Familiarity with the IEC 62443 standard family and its application in product development
Experience with embedded Linux and/or edge devices
Experience integrating or bridging OT and IT systems (e.g. industrial environments connected to cloud or enterprise systems)
What you’ll get to do
You will design and contribute to nationally significant and security-critical software solutions as part of an agile team. You will have a hands-on role while also influencing architectural and security-related decisions.
You will work closely with clients throughout the project lifecycle, translating business and regulatory requirements into secure and sustainable technical solutions.
A security clearance may be conducted for the selected candidate.
Career growth at Gofore
While you would join as a Senior Secure OT Software Engineer, we actively support career development. Depending on your interests, you may grow into roles such as Tech Lead, Secure Software Architect, OT Security Specialist or Delivery Responsible.
Knowledge sharing is an important part of our culture, and you’ll have opportunities to mentor others or contribute to internal training.
